New guy with a few questions!

I have a 1989 Corolla SR5, I know the GT-S is suspposed to be the "Performance model" but is there anything I can do with my SR5. I am just looking for a little more power and a few basic suspension and brake upgrades. I hate the fact the I have drum brakes in the rear, is there a possible conversion to disc the I could install. Did I mention it is an automatic?! I would really be greatful if you guys could just point me in the right direction to find what I am looking for and throw in some helpful advice!!

There are performance springs and struts available for the SR5 if you check the Master Corolla Sticky for links. Manual trans swaps are doable but time consuming and fairly involved. The drum brakes will stop your car just fine. I don't think you can swap the GTS brakes without having the gts suspension set-up too, but do a search in the Corolla forum for SR5 -> GTS conversion threads and you will find some info The best thing for your car performance wise would be a swap to a 4a-ge or derivative. Seriously do a little searching here and you will find out what people have done.
