o2 sensor problem

I have a 1991 Corolla

I was just curious if anyone knows where the wire that go to the o2 sensor come from, cause this past summer i rebuilt the motor, but when i took the down pipe off, it feel, before i could get the o2sensor off of it, and riped the wire right off.

is there 1 o2 sensor for the exhaust or is there 2, cause if there is 2 i will just wire them together. i just need to get it running so i can sell it soon.

but if some one can help me i would appreiciate it. thanks

I don't know that model but I will assume that there are two, one before the cat. converter and one after it.

From your description, it sounds like you can't find more than one of the input circuit harnesses.

Do you have two O2 sensors?

If you only have one, then you know where that connects and your done.

If you can find two sensors but only one wiring harness going back to the ECU, then you cannot solve your situation by parallelling the two O2 sensors into the one visible harness. That would leave the ECU having a torn off harness for one of the two sensors, and the ECU will throw a code if it does not see activity coming from that unattached sensor. Also, the two sensors tied together would be supplying the ECU with totally confusing information about how your engine is running.

You have no choice but to locate or rebuild the missing harness.

Good luck.
