AE92 ACK! - A little Sunroof Help

But first things first. I wanted to give props to Ren!

Because when I was deciding on a car to buy, I had choices between some hondas, a S-10,
a VW[jetta] and the lovely Corolla GTS [89'] which has stripes? [haha oh man, you know they add horsepower ]. But seeing pics of Ren's ride made me really expand my state of mind as to what I could do with this car. So Props! I'm a very happy camper thus far.

The guy I got it from is a Toyota mech head - and he sealed my sunroof somehow! - I just don't see what he did to do it. The motor works and I press the open button and it goes and goes and then - "Click click click click click" is what I get. He has done something that is keeping it from sliding and I really have no clue as to what BUT!

thats where my fellow GTS owners with powered sunroofs come in. Seeing as I have no pictures to compare what it would look like if it wasn't sealed off - I really don't know what to remove - so I ask of you - maybe provide some pics of the sunroof - at different angles and even opened - so I can compare and move to understand whats holding my sunroof from going

At first I was completely against the sunroof even being fixed but I sort of want it now,
so help a brother out?

Thanks in way advanced

just don't screw up the seals. the only seal of the two in the sunroof that is still available from the dealer is $103. and its on limited availability.

The click click click sound is usually the small drive gears on the drive motor which opens and closed the hatch. Try removing the switch assembly that turns the motor on and off. I think you can access the drive motor and hopefully see whats wrong. Trace that click sound down and see where it's coming from, that clicking sound is your problem. One more thing, your hatch may be glued/sealed shut, some people have done that. Try to manually open it and see if it can move.

yeah I checked the motor out and it seems to be just fine. I'm going dirty tomorrow and I'm going to do all I can to inspect and check the roof' - I'll let you know what I find.

i'm guessing he probly sealed it with some type of glue. I warn you. when you take off the panel thats on the interior, its a b!tch to get back on. I'll take some pics tonight and show you what it should look like.......well its a little rusty but you'll get the picture.
