hmm lets see here probably because toyota built the prizm its 100% Toyota look anywhere on the car and it will say toyota only part i found that didnt say it was the speaker cradles in the front dash and the radio was gm other then that its a toyota so why not spend time fixin it up he bought the same car as a corolla just cheaper so instead of bashing him help the man out..and its probably a 4a-fe thats what mine is 1990 GEO prizm 5 speed 4a-fe if it says 16 v efi on the valve cover then its is a 4a-fe most in here will tell u to swap motors to a 4age but i like the gas saving fa-fe plus i cant afford to do all that right now but i hope that helps..
Yah, except for the Delco speakers and radio (which are now replaced), it's all Toyota. I knew that much MR2BAD
I got the car for $100, and I figured what the hell, might as well try the import scene. My daily driver is an 88 Camaro Iroc-Z (Stealth Ram, NOS, aluminum heads, 12 sec 1/4) so this will be a big learning experience!
So I have a 4afe... that's a good start to know! Someone was telling me about a motor swap, something about a 6speed and 175hp. Not sure what the engine was though!
Also, seems like some of the body is different from the Corollas, what parts are the same? I was told the doors and fenders are Geo only.
well i dont think the doors and fenders are diffrent cause we had a 2000 chevy prizm and now a 1990 prizm and the doors have toyota stamped right one em only diffrent is front grill a lil diffrent other then that anything toyota will work the parts numbers are even the same
i kid you not i cant rember what site i read it on but the prizms were built in the numi plant right next to the corrola and the only say in the whole car that gm had was there logo placement and design of the logo toyota did the rest..btw what are your plans for the car and what are you goin to use it for
Plans for the car? I have no idea. This is my first import and I figure I'll buy whatever parts I can for it, just for something different. Problem is, aftermarket stuff for this car seems hard to find!
Such as at nopi.com, a strut tower brace is listed for the 92 Corolla, but not the Prizm. Also the cold air intakes are over $200! If only there were some $20 ones on ebay such as for Hondas lol

I'd have to imagine that aftermarket mechanicals would (or at least SHOULD) be interchangeable, for all intents and purposes, beings as your Geo is a obviously a Corolla.......only problem I could think of might be in terms of interior/exterior trim related areas. Since they were built on the same line, I doubt there's much (if any) real differences. Good luck !!
well try jcwhitney 49.95 for a streetflow air intake if u want cold air get some pipe and make one yerself for cheaper then 200$ yea on the nopi site they have nothin g realy for a prizm but dont worry the toytoa parts will work for some reason the aftermarket dosent realize its the same car and yea i agree parts are hard to find sometimes u just have to make it yerself
