Opinions Needed

My buddy, the check engine light is on. I visited AutoZone and they scanned it with their Actron, which surrendered the following:

P0171 - The fuel system for bank 1 is too lean

This is a 2001 Corolla with 60,000 on the clock. The gas tank cap is working, it creates vacuum. The fuel filter is not servicable on an 01, it's burried in the tank with the fuel pump. I did add a bottle of Prestone Injector Cleaner goo to the tank. The guy at AutoZone said he had a friend that is a chemist for a petroleum company and said that the Prestone stuff was actually pretty good, the stuff they manufactured sucked, brand name with held. If the Injector cleaner goo does anything I'll be surprised!

Is the 01 Corrola known for this sort of issue or am I just lucky?

Opinions wanted!

Thanks

Replying to my own post. This problem turned out to be an easy fix. The car was running lean because the MAF (Mass AirFlow) sensor needed cleaned. The MAF is the first thing the intake air travels through when it leaves the airbox. There are 2 little wires that are maintained at 200 degrees centigrade, the electric current flow used to maintian this temp as the air flows over them is what the computer uses to sense the current air conditions as it enters the engine. Over time, it took mine 60k miles, the wires become covered with black soot. A quick cleaning with some carb cleaner is all it took. I disconnected the battery to reset the check engine light and the 1800 was happy once again.
