Question 2003 Corolla Air Intake - Check Engine Light

Hello,

I recently installed an air intake system on a 2003 corolla. The thing is, I bought this item off of ebay and it has no place for the OBD canister hose. It came with this flat piece of metal that has circles on it, (not sure what this is for - sorry, that's why I'm here asking for help!).

The intake is currently installed. But after 200 miles or so, the check engine light comes on. Anyone encounter something similar to this? Can I close off the OBD canister hose? Do i need to add something else?

Not too sure what's causing the check engine light but i'm pretty sure it has to do with that...thanks for any help.

Best

Funky

P.S. Here is a pic of the item

An Intake that does not have a place to connect everything that is connected to the stock intake is not worth your time. Get an intake from a reputable company (or a used one or an Ebay copy of a reputable company's intake) and it will have everything you will need. That metal thing with holes looks like some sort of bracket.
You can get your OBD II code read for free at your local Auto Parts Store. Call ahead to confirm that the particular place offers that service.
