timing belt or chain

i'm trying to find out if my 2001 rolla CE uses a timing belt or chain??? i called the local dealer and he said it don't matter which it uses cause it needs to be replaced at 90k milesand i now have 107kmiles i tried a fews shops and they said a chain but to double check with the dealer. and also i found this carbon fiber exhust brand new for $1600 is that a good price??? haven't really had time to stop by the dealer in person cuz i work two jobs and last question(promise ) what is a crolla xrs that i've read about in some of these thread i've never seen one before what the difference between that and the s model??? thanks

Your 2001 Corolla has a Timing Chain and in theory it should not need replacement.

As for your question about the definition of 05 Corolla XRS, It is a performance driven Toyota Corolla with Celica GT-S Toyota/Yamaha 2ZZ GE engine and 6 speed transmission and an 8400 rpm rev limit, sport tuned suspension, all wheel disk brakes, Michellin performance tires, larger 16 inch alloys and a whole bunch of other toys such as chrome and leather work interior and electronic black on red optitron guages etc.

wow!!!! sounds like A little piece of heaven, i plan on trading my 01rolla for a 05 s model, but I've suddenly had a change of heart. anyway thanks for your help I'll be looking into this XRS model.

Yeah , it is a very sweet car. Quite entertaining too, It sounds like a sport bike/F1 racing car at high revs.

it has a chain that is self adjusting and doesnt need to be replace until it gets noisy
