coolant leak - looks like a missing drain plug on the block??

guys

so i fixed the leak on the freeze plug .. but the strangest thing is now im getting an even heavier flow somewhere else. I took a look .. it's not visible in any angle straight on, it feels like a perfect circle.

I went out and bought one of those mirror on a stick thing (dentist uses it) and was able to see the water flow out of this hole. It's definately a perfect hole that used to have something in there. It's not a big hole .. pretty small, maybe 3-5mm wide. I don't know if there's thread on it to indicate a screw, but maybe?

what on earth can it be??? help me!

it is located near one of the drive belt pully .. in the back /underneath the block.

1994 corolla

thanks~!

I see it is around the water pump area. I traced it to a small hole underneath this metal thing which has a pulley (drive belt) connected to it. It is a perfect cirlce hole 3-5mm in diameter ... looks like something came out of it. Maybe a screw ? I didn't see any thread, but maybe it is there.

anyone know what this could be?

I took a picture of the area + w/ a dentist mirror on a stick thing to get a visual on the hole.

please help me out or give me some suggestions on wha to look for ..

please don't mind the oversized pics .. sized em so you guys can see clearly. thanks !

notice the area where the pully is connected to.. it's underneath there

size of hole

water free flowing from it

is it in the block or in the water pump? if its in the water pump its the weep hole and your water pump needs to be replaced

i think you're right ... bad waterpump.

do you have an idea of how much $$ these things usually cost?

i think i'm just going to have a mechanic do it .. i wasted so much time this week tryin to replace a freeze cap.

also, timing belts are usually recommended to change during this procedure as well, right?

thanks alot.
