The car was parked for quite a while, the rotors were rusted and the paint is badly oxidized. There is rust in all the typical places and a fair bit along the top the windshield, which is the only bit that really bothers me. I laid down and had a look at the floors and rockers, both are good, theres a small hole in the outer skin on the drivers side rocker. The front bumper brackets are slightly bent but the bumper is ok. All trim and tails are there and the headlights both work. The motor sounds strong and healthy, though there is a bit of valve noise, I'm sure the timing is off. After attaching cables to my car, it fired right up. No smoke. The engine warmed up and ran smooth. the interior is mint except for a few wear spots and its complete. It needs lots of work, but I may just park it in the garage and work on it as time allows, or I'll just freshen it up a bit and take it to the track and have some fun. I haven't decided yet.
Trueno, add me to your icq or msn devilina3piece@hotmail.com or 162206259
there's not gonna be anything left on the car!!! it was just a joke man. send me some pics of the thing man. is it a coupe or hatch!?
Hahah, what I need is a few pieces of metal. I might grab it still, you got any pics?
Its a red/red hatch, don't have pics, but we'll see what I can do. I believe Project Trueno saw it a while ago, he can attest to the poor shape its in.
Don't worry about the rust around the windshield. I can show you how I fixed mine. Do you have the car in Brampton or is it still in Sauga?
Norm
Hey Norm, the car's still in Sauga, I should have it home by Friday if all goes well. I'd love to know how you delt with the rust, I was planing to cut the metal off a donor car and weld it in, but experience would be nice. Thanks man.
Deep, just go to home-depot or Canadian tire and buy sheet metal. Don't use any metal parts off any car because it might have rust problems that aren't visual to the bare eye. Plus sheet metal isn't very expensive.
The only way to treat rust is to cut it off and about 2" more around every spot, that way you'll make sure it doesn't come backl...

I know man, but its a pain in the ass to shape sheetmetal into a chennel for the windshield or fender arches. It may be ok for the rocker and rear side marker.
hmm the car is sold for $600? i thought the guy's gonna keep the car... anyway that's a good deal...
i saw the car a while ago (not PT i'm the older bro), it's a nice car, i believe at that time the guy took off the power steering, and some other stuff, interior is good but the body does need a lot of work. Windshield has a little crack i think.
