how fast am i supose to run on highway? help plz!!
hi , i just bought a 05 corola CE recently now has around 9700km on it. i like run it on highways , and now was told by a friend that dont run over 120km/h, its not good for the car....so i haven't ran over 120 excpet like 2 times(i think) . pleasse someone help me with this question
don't know if it's that bad for the car as it's going to be bad for your wallet. Speeds >120km/h will create circular (tornado like) winds that will drag mainly big fords with cops in them.......
would highly doubt it, there are many speed limits in the states of 75mph. Not sure about the car but mabye 90+ would hurt it. I did 110 in my dad's camry and no probs so far

If your afraid to drive your Toyota rolla-05 at 75 MPH because you think its bad for your car then I think your a little paranoid because that's how fast most cars drive in a 65 MPH speed zone anyway...Really I would think that driving that fast or faster would only hurt the driver of the cars wallet from the speeding tickets that he would get eventually....JMHO...anyway those are all highway miles and better for your car then driving 35 MPH all day ....JMHO...Radd Guy
so that means is ok to drive a corolla CE over 120+ km/h , and i wouldn't have any mechanical or any other problems with the car? (in my city the highway speed limit is 100 top but ppl drives 140-160, crzy ppl, i just dont want to slow cars down...)
My normal highway speed is usually cruising at 80-85 mph. I maxed out at 110 mph on my Corolla S (the stock Goodyear integrity all season R rated) and it was fine and been up to 137 mph on my XRS on an empty freeway (with the stock Michellin V Rated high performance tires). Although, I would not go up to 137 mph again since it was just to see how far can I go before the governor kicks in, but everything seemed very well under control.

I have a 96 prizm and I run at 80 mph everyday on 87 gas. I do 95 to 100 mph occassionally and my car has 154,000 miles. dont worry about anything less than 100 mph. last year I raced my friends Lexus LS 400 and we were doing 100-105 mph on the highway. The engine was working but I dont feel any adverse effects up to now.

your car should be fine.....if you're not comfortable with driving at that speed...then for our sake.....STAY OUT OF THE LEFT LANE.....
My car is what.. 16yrs old now.. I drive anywhere between 120-140kmh on the highway all the time.. sometimes I go 150kmh and up (I have hit 205kmh before ) My car still runs fine, its got 340,000+km already. Your friend is either retarded or afraid.
my car can't run over 120km/h coz my speedo only goes up to 120 then it goes back to 0.
hahah
that remind me a few years back when we drove, my friend and i, a '93 suzuki swift 1.3 at 175km/h when the top speed is 140
and my mom corsica 3.1l, also stop at 140km/h but i could'nt see the needle
