3inch exhaust on an xrs.

so i was thinking about installing a 3inch headder back exhaust on my XRS but im not sure of the benefits. ive heard of cellicas making hp & tq hith it but im not sure. im going to check the other forums for info but i just thaught id check. THNX!!!

ummm... 3" exhausts are usually run on turbocharged cars... for example, the DSM Talons and Eclipse's most popular exhaust is 3" but this is a benefit because with High boost and tons of power being produced by these motors, 3" exhausts will increase the flow. The Celicas you've probably heard of are probably ALL-TRAC's.

For your car.. the highest I would go is 2-2.5 Inch... but I'm not sure what's out there for the XRS in term of aftermarket exhaust.. I think most of the stuff coming out is 2" max.

3 inch will take away from the little bottom end power that you have, and probably will sound like donkey piss. Go for a 2.25"

You need back pressure in a all motor set-up Simple as that. 2 1/4" to 2 1/2 at MOST! In a turbo set-up no exhaust is best...
