Tires for corolla??
My Corolla came with Firestone FR 680's ( 185/65 R14 ).
I hate them hate them!!
When I first got the car I was spinning alot when I tried to pull out in traffic. At first I thought that it was my clutch work because I owned an '84 Camry AT before this one, but after almost two years with this car I know I can shift it damm well now and it still cuts loose way to easily.
Not only do they cut loose, but they chirp whenever I take off or take a corner with any gusto. (There is an excessive tire noise ordinance in my town so this sucks...)
When it rains I can barely go from a hill stop without spinning the tires. Also in the rain I can cut the wheel sharply and cause the REAR end to cut loose easily.
Sorry, I could write a book on how much my tires suck.
Anyway, I'm obviously in the market for new tires. Eventually I would like TRD 16 by 7 inch rims wrapped with Nittos, but that has to wait for more money. I have checked out Tire-Rack.com for a tire in the range of 50$ (US) to put on my 14 in. factory aloys, and have narrowed it down to the Dunlop SP Sport A2. This tire is a high-performance/all-season tire but it out-performs many high-performance tires in wet and dry traction AND has great grip in the snow. It also out performs many more expensive tires.
Does anyone have the Dunlop SP Sport A2's?
If so how do you like them?
Does any one have other tires to sugest (daily driver)?
Does any one else also hate their stock corolla tires?
Does any one have problems with their high performance/summer tires when the weather turns?
Tire-Rack said I could fit 195/60 R 14's on my rims should I go for the slightly wider tires?
Let me know dudes and dudetts!!!
PEACE!!
