Corolla tries to die when stopping

Hello all,
I've finally gotten my old 1980 Corolla SR-5 (3TC Engine) to run again thanks to some informative and helpful members on this site. Car starts and runs very well, but when you go to stop, it bogs down and tries to die. Highway speeds are fine, and it has plenty of power, just the wanting to die issue when you come to a stop. I recently rebuilt the carb, and it seems to be running much better than before in that regard. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this? Thanks!

Fuel filter... my old carb'd Civic had a similar problem.. turned out my filter was clogged and eventually leaked. It could also be the fuel pump not delivering enough fuel anymore.
