I went car shopping today. I figure I might as well trade my GTI for something more reliable.
Subaru:
Rather pushy. I went in looking for a 2.5RS, cause they look so snazzy on their website.
They didn't have the SE model in stock (all sold out) so I looked at the regular wagon. Pretty plain jane boring, the quality sucked too. I didn't even want to drive it, it just looked like some cavalier.
The dealer asked me for my driver's licence and my reg. So I got it from my car. He started telling me all this BS about how he only thought it was worth 5k.

(About 3500 US for a 98 GTI VR6)
I said no thanks.
He kept pushing but we eventually got an excuse and left.
Toyota:
Friendly as hell salesman. He came out and throughout the ENTIRE time, nobody made us feel pressured. We looked @ the Corolla S in automatic, then I inquired about the XRS. He said "Oh are you sure you want it?" And he said that the S was a more comfortable ride and cheaper. I really appreciated his honesty throughout the entire time he kept telling me about the pros and cons of everything i was asking.
Finally I said, Order me a black one in XRS!
Although I felt that on the Matrix and Echo, the interior was sub-par for Toyota, it was still better than anything else I saw out there.
The guy told me and my dad that Toyota Japan thinks of the customer first, the dealership second, and themselves third. Coming from a dealer you would think that was BS, but I really believed everything he was saying, and I think it was awsome how laid-back and pressure-free he was.
I chose black over the gray cause it's an XRS, I want it to shine!
So now I have the problem of selling off my GTI. I think I would do a lot better with it going to a private buyer instead.
The dealer said even though he ordered me a black XRS, if I didn't like it he wouldn't make me buy it, because they sold so damn fast anyways.
I think I made a good choice and if everything goes well I'll be in a Toyota soon!
I just need to find out how much the insurance cost is, if anybody knows on the XRS model!
Damn I'm happy!
