Steering PRoblem

Hi I have an 82 Corolla RWD, I am hearing a clicking sound in front whenever I pass through a not so smooth road, the steering goes away from the humps or bumps automatically and I fought to get it to a straight direction. Sometimes it is heavy on the left side and sometimes its feels normal. MOst of the time at 80km per hour I can feel a slight vibration on the steering wheel (with clicking sound). SOS please.

Just a couple of things that could solve your problem... Also if your tires are old, they could be out of shape.

Thanks Ren, all four tires are brand new, The wheels are balanced and already aligned.

I have a steering problem too..when I first start driving ym car my wheels sticks where it is until I apss half a turn in either direction..kinda of annoying but it seems to stop after the cars good and warm.

I think you just need to lubricate the u joint w/c is between the firewall and the steering rack.

Ok Pronlem is solved, The problem occured when I ask a shop to fix my rack and pinion (bushing) , after that, I can hear ckicking sounds just under by steering wheel. What I have found out that the u-joint was not aligned properly and the retaining screws does not even have any lock washers on it. STUPID Mechanics!
