Define "sway" .........does your Corolla have sway bars (actually, I guess they'd be "anti-sway bars") ??? - dunno if they use 'em all across the 'rolla line or not. Perhaps a strut tower brace/bar/whatever they call 'em might be in order, as well ?? I'd imagine if your mechanically inclined, either of these would be DIY-able....

I have no idea what is underneath the car. All I know is the car does not feel "tight enough". I am not looking for a sports car but it seems the shocks should be a little stiffer or something. Nothing here is to be taken in a sexual way! jason

no other way except to change suspension parts...

harder springs and stiffer shocks are the only way to go....my mom's 05 corolla is like a minivan........ and factory tires sucks... but i guess my mom and dad driving it is all good for them

You could've bought an XRS instead

springs and struts can be a DIY job, but I really don't think you are up to the task if you are asking how to stiffen up a corolla CE. Springs and struts will set you back at least $500, the roll bars and strut tower brace another couple hundred. Another couple hundred for labor. $1000 for suspension upgrades on a brand new car, and you'll still have garbage tires on it.

The car is meant to get you from point A to B safely. Hell, even my XRS is just a bit better than that, it is a 4 door celica gts econified into a corolla.

I'd start cheap, get a strut tower brace off of ebay. See how you like that. Get some use out of those cheap ass goodyear tires, then get something better, see how you like it. If you want more, get the roll bars. If that doesn't do it for you, then do the struts and springs. If you wanted a tight riding car at that price, you probably should have been looking at the mazda 3i instead of corollas.

Polyurithane suspension bushings and strut tower braces are also good addons as well.

aftermarket springs are the best way to reduce that body roll. Lower the center of gravity on the car. Anything that prevents torsion on the body, such as strut tower bars, anti-sway bars, floor/body reinforcement bars (like in the XRS) help too, but lowering the center of gravity will help most. Matching that with aftermarket struts will help give a stiffer, moer controlled ride as well.
