Beep when Locking/Unlocking Door

Hey guys. I just recently bought a 05 Corolla S. I was wondering if anyone knows if they can program a beep to the keyless entry system. I don't have an alarm or anything. I want it so that it would beep whenever I locked the door using the remote. Thanks.

Why for ??? As confirmation that it locked ?? We have an '05 S as well - doesn't yours flash the lights when you lock it ? Or possibly you could hit the panic button (beep and flash) and then hit the lock button to stop it and lock it ??? Just a few ideas, for what they may be worth.

Edit - hey bc88 - I grew up just little north of Philly - in the tiny Borough of Bristol ("Exit 29 of the PA Turnpike"...LOL)

Yeah, pretty much just for confirmation that it was locked. Right now the weather's nice and sunny and as I walk away and push the button to lock the car, I can't always see the light flashing. If there's no way to do it that's no problem, I just thought that such a thing would be something rather standard on keyless entry systems.

Cool...i live just west of philly off of 76.

No the remote has a button with two sides on it. Press the top side, it locks and press the lower side, it unlocks. I have an aftermarket remote start/security system/pager installed. It flashes and honks when I arm or disarm it.

I would like it to do the same thing. It honked extremely loud on my Corvette, and now the Corolla does no such thing. Depressing.

To get the "beep" you would need to install the Toyota OEM alarm system. That beeps. But I hear you about the problem where you have to keep pressing that damn button to see your lights flash several times in bright sunlight.

Actually, I usually lock it as soon as I step out and can hear the door locks go "clunk". At least the 'rolla's exterior lights flash - we have a "hand me down" '95 Olds 88 beater that lights up the dome/reading lights when you lock it....talk about not being able to see THAT in the daytime...LMAO !!! If this hadn't been my dad's and him having given it to us (he's too old to drive, these days), I wouldn't have anything to do with a big green rolling turd such as this GM model.....I seriously doubt I'll ever have a "US automaker" car grace my garage for the forseeable future....plainly and simply, they suck. Sorry, didn't mean to stray...rant over
