A few questions about my 1993 Corolla.

Hey guys, I've posted like once or twice on here, and I have some questions about this hand me down old old car. so right now I have about 160k miles on it, and there are a few things that I want to do to make the car...drive a bit better. A few problems I have is...the car shakes a whole lot when I get to to like 50+ mph. Another is the car is loud as hell, is it suppose to be this loud, or are all my sound deadening things gone? My windshield is cracked, would that cause it to be louder? One last thing..How can I make the ride a little smoother? THe car's suspension seems pretty bad...every tiny little bump would cause my butt tofeel it, and it hurts. Even when it's only some raise and fall bumps...the car feelsl ike its going to fall apart. Any help would be greatly apprecaited, does it sound like my shocks are gone? should i go for some aftermarket springs and struts?

if you hear clunking noises when going over speed bumps, then most likely your shocks are dead.

as for the shaking through the car ... check your spark plugs, in fact just change all 4 of them.

is the car VERY loud? maybe a leak/hole in the exhaust ??
