USA Questions about buying this car

I am in need of another car badly, as the one I have right now is dying fast. I need something reliable as well.

I was searching online and came across a car that may be promising but had somequestions I was hoping y'all could answer for me.

The car specs are:

1987 Toyota Corolla Sedan 4dr
96,000 miles
5 speed transmission

It has a cracked windshield, which is nothing cause I can get that fixed with no problems. But the seller also says that it needs a flexpipe. How much would that cost me? He wants $200 for the car as it stands right now. Is that a good deal or not? Should I take it for that price or are the repairs too much more than what I paid?

Well, thanks for letting me know and all help is appeciated here.

That's a good deal IMO, a flexpipe will depend on where you go.. if you go to a small muffler shop, they could weld one up for under $100 CDN.. not sure how much it would cost in the US though, windshield in Canada could cost anywhere between $150 if you got a hook-up, to $300 if you go to one of those autoglass places.

Drive the car, take it to your mechanic and get it checked out to make sure its got nothing else wrong.. but for $200US that's not a bad deal.

if it runs and moves under its own power its worth $200 for sure, i sold my 89 with waaay more miles, blown out suspension(all 4 wheels bounced like basketballs) and the car was nearly rusted in half and got $250 for it
