TRD Lowering Springs

Anyone know how much of a handling difference the TRD Lowering Springs are between the stock suspension on the 03-05's? I'm mainly looking for better handling than appearance, I'm perfectly fine with the S's appearance the way it is. I just want better capabilities from a handling perspective. Right now the way it is, it feels less capable than my old neon, and way less capable than my SE-R. I don't really care too much in terms of ride comfort...any suggestions?

I can't help you with the trd one, but i'm waiting my tein spring for my XRS and i'll be able to give some feedback. One thing is sure is that my xrs is way better than my 03 S for handling....

if you REALLY want handling, do the works... go with the TRD springs, strut tower brace and sway bar. I have an '04 camry and have it all. Its stiff and comfortable at the same time and I love it!

TRD are eibach spring and good spring, my point is that trd don't go low enough on corolla. We have a SUV like space between the tire and the fender. I think that beside of the manufacturer, the most important is to get quality spring with the spring rate adapted for your need and the drop you want.....

drop height doesn't really matter to me....actually i'd prefer a minimal drop, i don't want it too low b/c where i go to school, road conditions are bad for a car that's lowered too much. i mainly want to improve handling for roads that are tight and very curvy.

Then I thinks that TRD / Eibach or Tein H-tech all could be good alternative. If money is no object then you can go with a full coilover setup

does anyone besides dropzone have a coilover set for the 03+ rollas yet?

I'm looking at the Teins for mine too. Is there really that much of a difference in the handling in the XRS vs the other models for the 03+? What all is different about the XRS suspension other than the cross support bars behind the rear seats?

The difference of the xrs is coil spring with different rate and about 0.5" lower than stock corolla, appear to be different strut also. If I compare to my 03 S I see a difference the car doesn't roll as much in the corner and also the better factory tire make difference. The direction witch is different give better feedback as far as I'm concerned. I'm quite sure that with the Tein s-tech with the front spring rate of 130lbs/inch and 150lbs/inch in the back will for sure improve cornering ability.... sacrifying some ride quality....

hey, if you want a cushy ride, go buy some monroe struts from advance auto. I think most of us here are in the boat where we are willing to sacrifice ride quality to be able to hug those turns better. My main question would be around the struts. Are they really any different, or are they the same Macphersons as the normal rollas. Not surprised about the spring rate and the tires tho. I imagine if I put the teins on, drop the center of gravity by 2.4", and get a tower brace, with the 17" wheels with Goodrich Scorchers that thing will hug nicely (that thing being my '03 S).

Monroe....

For the strut i'm not 100% sure, just heard they have different valving than regular... but....

And for sure if you lower center of gravity by 2.4" it can just help....

I have Eibach Sport Springs and it dropped my XRS 2 inches,.. I cant tell a real noticable performance increase, but I dont really drive mine enough to test it out. I go to work on a straight, 2 lane, highway type road, and there isnt a lot of oportunity to test the suspension out a lot.

I do like the way it looks though, I got rid of the gap between the top of the tires and the fender well. And when I get 17's on it it will look very nice and clean.
