Where the heck did you get the Red Line tranny fluid? I can't find it any where. Not even Canadian Tire had it. I'm going on a little road tip at the end of the month so I wanna make sure I got everything good to go.

you need to find a redline products distributor.. most general car places have never heard of the stuff.. you should check out their website to find one:

http://www.redlineoil.com/

secondly, i changed the transmission oil just before last winter (and then stored the car).. so basically that oil in the tranny has only been in there and used since spring..

also, don't use redline MTL unless your tranny is really on its last legs.. use mt90

mtl doesn't protect the gears/synchros very well

MT-90 costs 16$ per bottle (taxes included) at JRP - I had to pick up 4 bottles the other week. It's the one and only reason why I go to that shop.

one question....how come on the back of the MT-90 bottle it says recommended for front-wheel drive manual transaxle...? or is there another type of Redline MT-90?

anyway just goto pacific mall, a shop named "Import Performance" (another S28..) has a couple of bottles...most tho are MTL, i only found one MT-90 so i grabbed it right away, but i passed by another shop and it has redline oil too, just go check, there isn't much automotive stores there

as far as i know there;s only 1 kind of redline mt-90.. but i would double check the website to be sure

and most fwd manual transaxles can use the same kind of gear oil as a rwd manual tranny.. its all the same shiz..

although i have heard that honda trannies don't work well with redline oil (and other synthetic gear oils)

ahhh i see thanks

reading the label on the back, it says: "This product is not designed for use in a rear-wheel drive differential which requires a GL-5 lubricant."

but then if you ppl driving AE86s and AW11s use it all the time, then i guess its ok

i'm pretty sure that the warning on the bottle you quoted is talking about things like limited slip diffs that need slightly differetn oil properties..

..ae86 and many older RWD cars use GL-4, not GL-5 therefore that warning does not apply
