USA From Auto to Manual Transmission

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2000 corolla VE(3 Speeds) and I was wondering if
I could change the transmission from an auto to a manual
and if it is possible, around how much will I be looking at?

Thanks =]

Between 300-800 if you do it yourself. Most likely it'll be around 500 or less. People have done the complete swap for an 03 Rolla for 500, I figure it'd be around the same price for a '00.

i have a 1993 corolla and i really want to swap my auto to manual, but i have no experience in cars and stuff, but i do want to do it myself, how hard would it be for someone whos enver done anything with cars except an oil change? but ud need a lot of tools right? like atleast a transmission stand and probably some other stuff.

Mike,
If you love your car I would suggest having someone else do the swap for you. It will save you money in the long run.

Sell the damn thing and buy a manual.. why would you bother doing all this extra work to a Corolla of that year when manuals are just as available as automatics are. Sure if you do it yourself is cheap, but you're looking at a bit of work and parts that you will need, otherwise paying a shop to do this will cost you a lot. Either way this won't take a day or two.. weeks maybe. In the end with all the time and money you're gonna spend either way.. you could've sold your car and bought a manual by then.
