5spd manual gearbox Celica-Corolla

Hello,

I might want to change the gearbox with a salvaged one. I found a Corolla of the same year as mine, and I've seen also a celica with the same engine and gearbox as mine. At least, they looked the same, although they might be different inside. Mine is a 1990 corolla with 5 speed manual gearbox.

Can I swap my gearbox with the gearbox from Celica? de they fit in sizes and bolts? That's because the gearbox from celica was in a much better shape.

My only concern is that the there is no middle mounting on the mid-cross-member; I could not see properly if that mounting is bolted to the engine or the gearbox, but I thought it is better to ask.

Your car has a 4AFE motor, the Celicas did come with 4AFE's but only the Celica ST's.. if you can verify that this motor is a 4AFE like your car's, then they should be the exact same transmission, C50.
