tranny question....

Hi guys,

just have here a few questions regarding corolla transmission:

1. what is the code of the stock 4age tvis tranny?
2. which is better a C50 or a C56 tranny?
3. will a C56 fit in a 4afe engine, corolla '96?
4. what are the gear ratios of C50 and C56?
5. Is there really a C27 tranny?

1. C52 is the 4AGE transmission.
2. C50 is the 4AFE transmission, C56 is the AE101/110 20V 5spd transmission. The C56 is geared for higher revving 4AGE's the C50 is not, but I hear the C50 will take a beating still.
3. most likely it will with minor modification, its still an A block transmission so it should go in no problems.

2. C50 is the 4AFE transmission, C56 is the AE101/110 20V 5spd transmission.

European Corollas and philippine corollas had/have C52's as their trannies on 4A-F/FE as do the GE's, final drive is the only difference in them.

if that's true, then it's the same c52 that the 7afe here got..... the early FWD 4ag's got the C50 instead of a c52
