TRD Supercharger for 1zz-fe

Hey Everyone,
I've planning a future mod for my ZZE122R Corolla and just wondering if anyone here has actually added the TRD supercharger to their 1zz-fe.
Only one person that I know here in Australia has done it, and it's very hard to get any real information other than what's in the sales catelogue.
I'm fortunate in that I've got a well put together car with absolutely no problems. The last thing I want to do is spend $5k and have problems!
So If anyone has actually done it to their 1zz-fe I'd really appreciate any info on any problems if any.
Cheers !

oh.. in North america they're called zz130's
it may not fit considering you've got a different chassi code. the 2003 and 2004's each have a different supplementary ecu that aren't compatible with each other. and the 2005 models don't work at all since they have drive by wire, so trd doesn't make a trd supercharger for it at all. although the all share the 1zz fe each one is different enough that it won't fit.

I know fitting shouldn't be a problem, the unit bolts straight on with no problems - It's just a simple replacement of the standard plastic intake plenum, throttle body and drive belt (Heaps of room under the hood!). My problem is that I don't know of others who have one and I'm not willing to proceed with the big spend unless I get more info, which isn't much I one of those guys who researches something thoroughly - read anal retentive ) before proceeding with it.

Here's a pic of one in a ZZE122 sedan (I've got the hatch) as you can see - very easy install. ECU tuning is the most difficult part of the process.
Supercharged

Well, he's been trying to sell or swap it ever since he did it which leads me to believe that he's had major headaches with it or just not happy with the result. And as I said before, he doesn't really answer any questions on it. I just want an honest opinion from an owner. I know it can be done, I just dont want headaches because this product isn't supported here by anyone, so If I have problems, I'm on my own.

I have a TRD supercharger installed on my Rolla (installed myself) and love it, not a single problem with it. If you want alot of info on the supercharger then join www.9thgencorolla.com there is a whole section on the supercharger and a ton of s/c'd members.

The blower will fit, but like said... Im almost positive the ECU wont work.

I've been following a story on a 2005 Corolla project car, you can put a superchager in a 2005 model but it will require some mods that are in the prototype stages. You can read about it from this link.
http://winnipegfreepress.com/autos/a...-3070886c.html

The only problems they had was installing a superchager built for model years 03-04 into the 05, it would seem that you would only need to change the engine control unit to complete the install for the 03 or 04 model years.
Would the install be covered under Toyota's warranty if done by the dealer? Seeing as that you would be spending alot of money at dealer buying this part, they should allow you to look at the installation instructions before you buy.

Additionaly I posted parts 1 and 2 of the 2005 Toyota Corolla tuner project vehicle you can use the search to find them.

Hope this helps you out

Good luck

Sorry IZZ-FE I just read the bottom line, "not supported here by anyone" I'm on my own.

In Canada here the factory warranty will actually cover the supercharger under the 5 year/100,000 km powertrain warranty, if it is installed by a Toyota dealer. (There is a 12 month warranty if installed under the shadetree of the backyard mechanic.) I have not confimed this with my Toyota dealer.
