94 starting problem

hi i have a 94 corolla sedan. I have been having problems for the past 2 months now. When i turn the key it just clicks but i hear gas being fed into the starter. Ive been told it could be the solenoid but im not sure. I only have enough money to buy either the starter or the soleniod what do u guys think it is?

I've had the starter replaced on my 95, and I hear it's quite a common problem... I dunno. I'd get it checked out.

If you can hear a click, that's probably the solonoid. Which means it is working but your starter is not. Check the connections at the starter, and try starting it while someone taps on it with a hammer to see if that gets it loose. Sounds like the starter is gone.
