So far here in Australia we've explored most external engine mods with very good success. We've done baseline Dyno tests on a 1zz-fe Corolla and continued testing with the same Dyno ( because they all vary in results slightly ) after each mod.
At standard it produced 76kw at the wheels. After the addition of an AEM CAI ( Fitted with a ITG pod filter ), Genie Extractors, a 2.25 inch cat back exhaust system and the Throttle body coolant bypass it produced 91.6kw at the wheels. Mid range torque was boosted. A TRD CAI will do the same job however it's been proven the AEM is slightly better for torque. Another izz-fe fitted with the TRD supercharger, CAI and 2.25 exhaust is apparently putting out 120kw at the wheels.

Corolla's go faster by the mod. Stock... they're not meant to be stock !

What's the kw to hp conversion.. we don't use kw in north america as kw is really an "electrical" measurement when you think about it.

Sorry
It's 1.3hp per 1kw so it was putting out approx 98.8hp at the wheels stock ( Also that was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno in shootout mode) and then after the mods it was putting out 119.08hp. Considering the mods made it goes to show the 1zz-fe is quite restricted in stock form.
