Oil Requirements

hey.. how much oil does a 5afe require... i changed my oil and out in 1 gallon checked it a few days after and it read below half.....

when i start the car the oil light stays on for about a second

should i put in more or am i burning oil some how.. someone told be they saw smoke from the muffler when i moved off

Did you change the filter when you changed the oil?

If so when you filled the engine with oil did you start the vehicle for a few seconds to fill the filter,and the recheck the level.
That may be the reason for it reading low on the stick a few days later.

The oil light staying for second should be normal, I do not know how much oil a 5afe requires I'm not the one to answer that for you .

maybe your engine is not good already..
the pistons are a bit lossen compare with the new one..
the white smoke from the exhaust... is the smoke exist if your engine running idle?
Is yes please overhaule your engine...
I face this problem also...
After every service half of my engine oil will be gone by a month time.
So the mechanic advise me to have it overhaule..
after that it doesn't exist anymore...
