I got a 89 Corolla GTS w/4age. I wrecked this car and it messed up the aluminum cover over my exhuast manifold. I dont know if that is causing it to get hot if that was a heat shield or something, or that it is really hot outside. Its not over heating but it does get pretty warm under the hood. Its hot enough to melt the wireloom over my plug wires. Is this going to hurt anything or is it ok? The temp gauge stays on the colder side of the middle.

yeah, that heat shield is supposed to help protect teh distributor cap and otehr things from all that heat..

you can melt your distributor cap if there's nothing protecting it fro mthe heat

Just drive fast enough to keep the airflow in your engine bay cool!
