Am I getting a good deal?

I've found for sale locally a 1991 Corolla SR5, 216,400 miles, bits of rust on it, but nice condition overall for $600. Do these have the 4A-FE engine like my current 1991 Corolla Sedan? I just want to make sure I'm not losing 10 hp by getting this new car, other than that, are there any particular things to watch out for with the SR5? Thanks!

Yes its got a 4AFE, that's an OK deal but I would offer $400-500 for it, 216,000miles is quite a bit already. If its automatic.. you already lost 10hp right there though.

It's definetly manual, just like my current 'rolla. The advantage it has over mine is the presence of a tach (yay!). I hate autos with a passion, would never consider buying one, not to say you're a bad person for having one. I just like driving my car, not the car driving me
