Car has 63K on it. Is an automatic one owner with the 1.8l motor. It really drives great. Being a honda guy through and through was curious if you guys had any experience as far as things that are notorious that might go wrong with the car, or any advice on things I should check on the car. This car will be doing 85miles round trip during the work week. Reason I bought it was low mileage, reliable (i hope!), good gas mileage, and parts availability.
Thanks for any input guys!
John

Only 63k miles ??? Excellent.... Should be a great daily driver - Toyota's are reliable as all hell, with only routine maintainence required. I'm on my 3rd Toyota (had a '75 Celica , then a '91 Tercel , and now an '05 Corolla S ).....can't wait to be able to afford getting rid of our "other car" (GM pos) and get yet another Toyota. My experience is that the most "notorious" thing that might "go wrong" with any Toyota is getting in an accident....the cars are appliance-like in their dependability

corolla are very reliable trust me, just routine maintenance and they will last you forever. change oil every 3,000 miles if you do alot of daily driving like maybe 150+ miles a day. if you really want to maintain your engine and tranny then get a tranny and oil cooler. that will keep your cylinders real clean and smooth, and your tranny will shift like butter even after you double your mileage. invest in a oil filter relocation kit as well if you want, makes changing the oil and filter a little cleaner.

lifeisviewtiful, can you please elaborate on the engine and tranny oil cooler and also the oil filter relocation kit? Would very much appreciate if you can show some pictures....thanks in advance!
great car super easy to work on, one issue i have noted is some oil burning in the 1.8, don't use any type of engine flush in the oil if its ok now it most likely won't be after, due to the valve stem seals
