USA Changing Front Brake Caliper

Hello,

I am new to the forum so first off I would like to say hello. I am having a problem with a 1991 Corolla. The driver side brake caliper is frozen. I purchased a new caliper to replace. It is quite easy but I have a question. My questionis regarding the 2 bolts that connect the caliper housing to the calliper carrier. For some reason the caliper slide bushings are coming out and the 2 bolts are snug. They appear to tighten all the way in but I don't want them to tighten up against the rotar. Is there a way to get the caliper slide bushings out? Would I use a screwdriver to get these out? Any help would be appreciated. Another quick quesion about the anti squeal springs. Are these necessary or could I install the brakes without them?

Thanks,
Brian
