Question Strange noise from 7a-fe

96 corrolla automatic 1.8l 7a-feGood car, only 78k mi. Only other thing had to replace so far was heater bypass hose and tires. My problem is there's a strange kind of bad bearing noise (roar) but mixed with a light wooshing noise and the pitch changes high to low each lasting about 2-3 seconds. Does this mostly at low RPM's and when in park. Very hard to hear when driving. I put a stethescope around on some pulleys and such and the noise is loudest right next to the tensioner pulley that is next to the alternator and a/c compressor. so i replaced that but didn't seem to help at all. has been going on for a while but i noticed it mainly today because i was checking the motor mounts because the engine lifts a bit too much when shifting. I did a bit of research. the only thing i can think that it might be would be oil pump or timing belt tensioner/pulley. i opened up the upper timing belt cover and peeked inside and everything looked in place and the belt had good tension. i dunno guys. let me have some input please, thanks.

i'll check bout the a/c. water pump most likely hasn't been done. when i bought it it had ~70kmi and had a leak in the bypass hose. upon replacing it i never thought to replace the water pump but with stethoscope on water pump i just hear water rushing around.

loosened the belt up quite a bit and the noise got very quiet. upon further inspection i believe it is coming from the compressor. friend of mine told me that when they start to leak a bit the bearing in the pulley starts to dry out and make noise. eventually it would sieze up or break or something. so now i gotta replace that.
