NE1 installed an auto-dim mirror in their Corolla?

I'm looking to install the auto-dimming mirror/compass that Toyota sells as an accessory in my '05 Corolla. Has anyone else done it?

i'm thinking about it but i'm kind of wary about running wires down the A-pillar since i have side curtain air bags. Here's why: when i purchased the car i had the mirror as an option but when i selected curtain airbags, the mirror became a non-option. not sure of the logic... maybe someone from Toyota knows. the airbag is really my only issue. the wires are easy... just find power that is available with ignition in "on" position and "T" in; use the power that is already there to power the map lights.

Probably because the airbags would go in the same location where the wires run thru.. or maybe they would use the same connector to run power.

BTW, I installed last weekend. It was a very easy DIY. The instructions specify which wire in the main harness to tap into. The entire install took < 1 hour. ( I don't have side curtain AB's.)

Pvt. Joker,

if you don't mind me asking, where did you buy the mirror and how much did you pay for it??

Also, any possibility of scanning in the instructions and posting them here or emailing them to me? tx. johnnyrizz@cox.net

I purchased at www.toyotaparts4u.com for about $179 (my stealer wanted $375 just for the part).

The instructions that I used are here: http://www.toyotaparts4u.com/0001612980%20Mirror.pdf

Let me know if you have any more questions
