Best brakes for a 1992 Corolla (and where to buy them)?

Hi,
I'm looking for opinions on which are the best-bang-for-your-buck brake pads and rotors. I have a mechanic who will install parts I purchase on-line, but I'd like to make sure I get the right stuff.

I have a 1992 Corolla LE automatic with 121,000 miles.

It does need the front rotors and rear discs, they are quite thin (beyond "discard" point), just want to make sure I get something as good as or better than OEM for a reasonable price.

I suppose I'm also asking where to get parts for cheap, brakes or otherwise. Any suggestions?

dealer for best parts.. for bang for buck.. any autostore will do.
