As long as Toyota comes out with a product with great value, people are going to buy it even if the price is higher because of their reputation. The thing is to stay ahead of the competition. If Toyota does not do it, Honda or Mazda will.

I don't find,as will most others any Corolla LE at and above $20K a great value.
Mazda 3 has to have more options and be cheaper to compete with the Corolla.
Would you buy a Mazda 3 over a Toyota?
People buy Corollas because they're reasonably priced and reliable.
When I bought my '05 the salesman said they would give me a great deal on a '05 LE loaded with leather, sunroof and such that listed for $19600.
I wasn't interested and he said many others weren't also.
That car had been sitting in their lot for months.
The salesguy said it very tough to sell a Corolla with that list price.
Want a navigation system?
They're available aftermarket at half the price of auto manufacturers.
