I just purchased a new 2005 LE and I love it. I was wondering, what is that large black speckeled area on the windshield above the rear view mirror and down the right side on the passengers side?

probably sunshade.

I live in CT near New Haven and paid out the door about $15,800 I beleive.

Its what ren69 said... it basically acts as a sunvisor to make a complete strip across your windshield when they are both down. Basically it's just tint.

Actually, it's a transmitter so the Bush administration can keep tabs on anyone purchasing a new auto in the US of A .... J/K...agree with the above posters - kinda a sunshade/screen/tint....kinda....I find it a lil odd looking, but haven't had the opportunity to find out if it really works
