Toyota Corolla LE 1998 Tires

It's time to replace my tires on my 1998 Corolla. So what options do I have for tire sizes, the defaults were 14". Anybody try 16" or 17" tires, on this corolla model. The exact tire code used would be useful. Any expected problems from using larger than stock tires.

I got 205/45/16 only rubbed once due to FULL load at the rear. and rim is +45mm offset 16x7

I believe you can go 17 with no problem when u have stock suspension but you will lose a bit more power.

Full load, you mean really heavy, like 5 passengers plus full trunk like coming back from the airport. No issues with minor loads - well whatever minor can be looked as, let's say full passenger load, i.e. 5, nothing in trunk ?

full load mean..........

2 adults in front, 160lb and 140lb

3 at the back, 130lb, 140lb, 150lb

and the trunk was PACKED... all the clothes and shopping stuff need for 5 adults on a 1 week trip to the US.

It was so packed that on the highway, going 120km/hr... if there is a uphill, my car will slow down to 100km/hr even when i am flooring it... thats how heavy it was.
