20v throttle cable...help!!

sry for the many 20v q's for my just finishing ae86 project, but i like to do it all as well as possible = well researched

I need to make/adapt/buy a throttle cable from my sr5 to the 20v. Today i got the idea of cutting the cable, and doing an extension so i get to use the original bracket that holts the cable

i have enough cable (full stock and ~ 1.5ft of the 20v's) and i'd need 2 brackets (WHICH, HOW??) to do the extending and then i'll have a good setup...Question is, is there a specific car whose throttle cable is long enough and will bolt to the things in my firewall (by pedal)

or simply phrased, which throttle cable to use

Thanks TN...
as payback for all your help i'll do a huge wiretup from A-Z, parts needed, wiring to be dune, Things to adapt and all the usual which i now know by memory.

I'm using the stock Corolla GTS cable, the SR5 cable will work as long as you find one that's not cruise control.

my stock sr5 cable is too short and that's my problem. You're saying the stock gts cable is long enough?

long enough from pedal/firewall to go around the 20v's throttle cable bracket and onto where it hooks on the butterfly opener??

will cutting and extending work? i have enough extra cable from the 20v

Don't try to cut and extend. Not worth the trouble. The non-cruise control GTS ones will work just fine. You can also get a Toyota Tercel one from the early 90's. Those are long enough to modify and fit. You will need to remove a small piece so you have enough slack at the end, but those will work. I believe the non-cruise control 22RE truck/celica ones will work also.

great info!! even though the cutting is not trouble, i can actually weld the cables together with a maap-oxy torch i have

Keep the info coming...i'm just worried about the little plastic piece by the firewall above the pedal that bolts the cable to the firewall (two screws u know...)
