4th Generation 79 2 dr help

Hey guys

So I was at an autocross today and a guy offers to GIVE me a 79 Corolla 2 door for FREE J

I was hoping you guys could give me some advice on this car, maybe connect me with a place to go to for good help with this car

Here’s what I know about it so far

79 2 Dr

1.2 L motor

4 speed manual trany

It was moved with a forklift (ouch) and thusly needs new fuel lines

It also needs new contact points in the ignition

I’ve been driving and tooling around with cars for 5 years now so I'm not a total retard and I think i9 can handle most minor and medium sized project without killing myself J

Just wondering of you guys might know how big of a deal it will be to fix this car up and get it running. All I’m looking for is a car that will get me back and forth to school and maybe autocross it every now and then

Thanks for your help

Do a motor swap then fix the fuel lines..

here's some info on all RWD Corollas pre 1988, I think that 79 is a TE72 Corolla.

1.2L = 3K motor so it's a KEXX not a TEXX. TEXX are 2TC equipped!

I would sujest going straight to a 3SGTE swap although you would need the convertion to a RWD.
