95 corolla 1/4 time

i just tested my corolla dx 95 1.8l specs this saturday after a single adjustment and my 0-60 is now low low 8's and my 1/4 mile time is mid 15's. al i did was install some bosch platinum +4 spark plugs and got a great performance boost. before it was 0-60 high 8's and 1/4 mile was mid 18's, that was with just a weapon r intake, air fuel mixture chip and a 2 muffler setup and ngk spark plugs(they really suck). i will be at the sacramento raceway this wednesday night if any of you want to be there.

anyone else wanna add there times and mods?

Mid 15's? Show a timeslip. Heheh... I personally ran my personal best of a flat 16 with a 7AFE Celica ST, and I had some very considerable work done... soooo I'll bet it's very safe to say you're only guessing. 3 seconds difference in the 1/4 mile will also make your 0-60 times VERY different. Can't do 0-60 around the same and then suddenly better your 1/4 mile time by 3 seconds. That's mathmatically impossible assuming both test runs were done the same.

Most mid 15 second 4 cylinders in the 2400-2600 pound range make about 130-140 whp (~170-180 hp at the crank)...

Care to elaborate on the "fuel mixture chip"??

Actually NGK's are better than Bosch, it just depends which model and in what car you're running it. If you want better than NGK and BOSCH go with Denso plugs.

the fuel mixture chip changes the ratio at which air and gasoline mix for combustion. but i dont have the slip yet, i timed myself with a stop watch around 15.2. and 15.3, i did it three times. 2 times with me drivig and once with my freind driving. ill be at the sacramento receway this wednesday night to race and get my official time.
any takers?
and its an automatic o/d

Stopwatch? Dude, did you guesstimate your 1/4 mile distance too? Show us a timeslip after you run at Sac.

There is NO way your auto 7afe will run anything faster than a 17.0. My first few runs with my 4AGZE was around 15.2. And there is NO way your auto 7AFE is as fast as any 4AGZE manual.

That also means that your auto Corolla is only 0.3-0.5 seconds slower than my Integra Type R? Those must be some magical spark plugs you got in there bro.

I wish I was in your area. I'd race you for sure...and I'd even use my old LS integra, which runs a stellar 15.0-16.0. It's stick, and has some headwork done along with intake and exhaust.

Anyways, not to flame, just post some official timeslips.

dont worry about it ill post on wednesday night when i come back from the track. and the place i tested it is in antioch , ca where its exactly a 1/4 mile from a sign to sign on a backroad. all i can say is its not just the plugs but all my mods put together. and how often do you actually come across a 93-97 corolla with the 7afe 1.8l thats a modified racer

LOL... an auto with o/d, spark plugs, "fuel mixture chip", a muffler, and an intake... and you're running times faster than Integra GSR's and B16 Civics, and even stockish Celica Alltrac turbos... c'mon now dude. You think people here are a bunch of idiots or something?

Let's see here... my engine was fresh when I last ran it (.5mm headgasket job, milled and refinished head, combustion chambers, cleaned ports, minor refreshing). I had all of the bolt-ons, cold air intake, header, full exhaust 2.25" (no cat), UD pulley, stage one clutch, fully tuned on a wideband o2 with a SAFC, running slicks in my Celica, which weighed in at 2500 some odd pounds... and I can only pull a 16 flat.

You begin to see how unrealistic you sound? Almost funny since you seem to believe what you're saying. That's not even mentioning I'm a 5 speed. Nothing against you bro... but you need to do some learnin about how cars accelerate, what makes power, and different types of mods and stuff, before you stopwatch your 0-60's and 1/4 mile times.

FYI, a 1998 BEAMS 3SGE Celica's 400m time was only high 14's, mostly low 15's... and his sh!t has 200+ hp and was stripped naked. Considering the 400m is a bit shorter than the 1/4 mile, one can say his 1/4 mile times are in the mid to low 15's.
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=24762

Read that... and then reconsider everything you "think" you know.

BTW plz don't post someone else's timeslip either, if you have a video, that would even be better.

That's a good point, a gen3 GSR Integra will run about 15.5 stock, with a manual transmission. It has somewhere around 175 crank hp. How is it possible that your auto 1.8 has more?

The 7AFE auto has potential to be very fast (high 13s, low 14s, seen it with my very own eyes), but only under boost and correct torque launch.

BTW if you want some real gains for your ride, get as many products from APC as possible. Their mods seem to do wonders for all racerz dude.

I also would like to see a pic of your fuel mixture chip. How does it regulate your injector pulses?

This is why I wanted him to elaborate on that supposed "fuel chip" cause its probably one of those "$29.99 EBAY special" chips that someone was making from Radio Shack chips.
