getting a 92 automatic

which is definitely not my wish to have an auto but sometimes when a good deal comes around ya gotta take it. my question is i believe this thing has the 4AFE motor, so would a header for a 4AGE bolt right up? how many parts would be interchangeable?

From what i understand, the headers will not work. The dfference between a 4AFE and GE is only the head, not the block. Because the headers come off the head, they arent interchangable. Most of the Peripherals (A/C, Power steering pump, Alternator) however should be. Gearboxes will be interchangable and some of the stuff like radiators and water pumps will be. You also have to think (when thinking interchangibility) is things like metering systems and ignition systems. On the FE's from 93 on for example, the dizzy has a built in coil, the GE's do not. The FE's in this period are MAP metered whilst the GE's (20v Silvertop specifically) are AFM metered.

Someone may want to correct me if i'm wrong about the metering and ignition systems. But in answer to your question, there are alot of parts that are interchangable, but there are also alot that are not.

thats too bad, seems like noone makes a header for the 92 model year, everything is 93+ or the older stuff. im not really looking to hop this thing up since its a 92 and an auto. but the b pipe witht he flex needs to be replaced and if i could find a reasonably priced header that would solve that issue and increase mpg and performance a bit i figure im ahead of the game. plus a lot of times i cant get the b pipe off the manifold so i end up replacing everything anyway
