The problem is... maybe about 3 or 4 people have done this swap on AE cars but there's no write ups on these swaps.

The toughest part for this swap will be custom making the engine mounts for the 3SGTE since the S and A series motors don't share the same mounts. Next you'll have to find a FWD transmission to fit the 3SGTE, your current transmission won't match up to the 3SGTE. Wiring, hoses, gas lines, fuel pump, etc.. are also a problem since both motors have different ECU's and fuel delivery requirements.

check out this board... www.grupotoyota.com.ph/board

then ask the question in Automobil Technica... it's based in the Philippines but they'll help you.

We have a friend that swapped a 3SGTE into a 4door AE92...the car was eventually wrecked

From what I know, I think a FWD 5SFE Camry tranny will work with the corolla axles (??). I also think one of the side mounts is moved over and the rear mount extended or something to that effect...shit I wish I knew for sure

And what about the shift linkages? How on earth do you make your old ones work??

If someone finds out, please tell us.
