dirty Power steering?
Recently I have been noticing that my 99 corolla makes a humming noise while steering (any speed, any direcction). It also makes a bubbling sound like if it was "sucking" air. I checked the power steering fluid yesterday but it was just below the the "high" mark. I added a little bit past the line and the noise stopped.
It seems that it is loosing ps fluid since I have had to add some every week.
I am afraid that it may be a faulty pump since the steering does not feel as "powered" as it used to be. I need to replace my tires so that may explain the harder steering.
Could it be that the PS fluid needs to be replaced. The car has around 115K miles. Since I got it 25+K miles ago, I have not replaced the PS fluid.
