AE92 Wheel fitment problem !!!

ive been looking for longer wheel studs for along time and i havnt been able to find.. people keep telling me to just use the Land cruiser studs which arent long enough

im looking for a stud that is 3/4 to an inch longer i need these to go with my 5mm spacers

ive talked to a guy in cali who said he could make me a set of adapters with studs built into them for about 65 bucks a piece !! i would really hate to spend that kinda of money just to space my car out so my tires dont scratch the struts.. this is really ghey so if anyone could help me out that be great

Please & Thanks
Dan

Xenon runs 205/40-16s with a 1mm spacers and I believe and he says he didn't need to get longer studs, and his wheels don't rub. You should get smaller spacers.

If you don't have to use spacers Don't use them. My father runs a rim/tire shop and he recommened's not using them unless you really need them.

well.. you do need them when you run 205 size tires.. if you stick to 195s you don't need them. Plain and simple.. 195s don't rub on the struts, 205s do, specially on AE92s.

Canada longer studs n spacers

tireguy here ... spacers are not a good idea ... for clearance issues.. i do not reccomend their use at all . have seen lots of problems with them . even wheels come off the car cuz they shift under load.... and the wheel nuts come loose ... not a good plan ....

Actually, that's not the reason they come off. They come off because some moron used spacers without getting longer studs. They usually then torque down the lugs only getting a few threads (when in reality no less than 3/4 of the way through the lug is safe). They take a turn and off comes the wheel.

However if you get longer studs, you don't run into this problem because you have enough thread to properly torque down the lug.

Using the correct lugs is also an issue many people don't consider. Differen't rims require different lugs to match up with the rim surface. My stock wheels use a deep lug. However those won't match up with my OZ's (my race rims). I picked up a seperate set of lugs to match those.

Wheel spacers aren't the problem. People without car knowledge are. The only reason spacers have a bad wrap is because too many unknowledgable people have made the same mistake.

It depends on the offset really.. you probably had to roll your fenders because of the offset you're running.. some offsets will be too close to the inner fender, some will be closer to the outer fender.

ive gone everywhere around here and nobody makes a longer stud with the correct knurl size for my hub ! ive also gone to every auto parts store and all they could give me is OEM studs the mechanics at the place mounting my tires told me to send the rims back and get the correct offset i told them that isnt an option and they basically couldnt tell me anything else... ive also contacted a guy in cali who makes custum adaptors and spacers etc.. and he told me to ask around on the forums for longer studs
