3S-GTE turbo swap for '89 AWD All-trac Corolla 5-speed?
This sounds crazy, but I've heard the AWD 5-speed tranny is able to bolt up because it has the same notch in the block as the 4A-FE for the transfer case. Obviously the wiring would have to be custom, would the motor fit under the hood? What about engine mounts? Do you think a stock 150,000 drivetrain would be able to handle this power? This is just for my daily driver / winter beater project, it just so happens that someone wrecked a mr2 turbo in my area, so the engine could be kinda cheap. Does anyone know anyone that's done this? Thanks.
