4age transverse mount alternator replace

Well my alternator finally gave up on me, and thank goodness it was close to home, so i managed to limp home on battery charge alone.

after $165 after trading in my old alt, i will be getting a unit with a 5 yr warrenty (muhahaha now the only thing to fear is my rad)

now the daunting task is removing this bitch that is burried under my intake plenumn.

my guess is to go from underneith..... blah.

anyone have tackled this before? ppl are saying bite the bullet and take it in to a shop, i say screw that!

if its anything like the ae102...and i highly suspect it is...you can loosen it from the top (you can even pullit out fromt he top) you might just have to take off other things first...resevoir, hoses, etc.

just remember to disconnect all the plugs going into the alt. prior to pulling...it makes life so much easier.

i suspect it's not as finicky as a Honda or something. As some of their models, you have to remove the driveshaft!

i think the g head is too damn big and it is near impossible to rip it out from the top.
