i assume you have an oil temp gauge? cuz if you don't, there's no possible way to know if your oil is too hot or not up to temp.

in any case, your high temp could be a result of a very lean engine (impropper timing). your ignition timing is so off that it causes the engine to run hot, thus consuming more oil, thus making it hot.

check also if there is a fair bit of sut and oil/grease build up on your engine block, oil pan or oil lines. all that gunk acts as an insulator and would definitely make temps hotter.

Are you sure your not reading your oil-pressure guage? Most stock gauges are not oil temp. At least I'm pretty sure of that.

I was just gonna say that.. the gauge on my GTS is a Pressure gauge.. not a Temperature gauge.. if its high or at least higher than half way.. that's ok.. when it gets to low it usually means you have no Oil left.. now that's when it means BAD. so you probably had no oil left before you changed your oil.

sorry guys!
i thought that one is a oil temp gauge
But the oil Pressure go up so quickly after i start the car
until it hits higher then half way, then it stop going up
It only happen to my AW11 ,but not the 86
The water temperature is fine, it stay in half way

oil press. instantly rises to half point and pretty much stays in that area. if it does anything else, something is wrong.

slow to climb...bad..very bad. means no pressure.

goes all the way to high and stays there.....too much pressure...look out blown line.

in any case, your gauge could just be broken. thats a very common problem.

And the pressure it stays varies if the engine is cold or hot when idling. As oil is thick when you just started in the morning and after it gets to normal temps, the idle pressure will go down a tad bit. I'm running 4-5.9Bars of pressure in the morning on gas and about 2bars idling, then it falls to about 1.3bars when the engine is warm... This is from my memory, so I might remember slightly off...

try adding a bigger oil cooler, switching to synthetics, or maybe your cooling system is not working correctly.
