81 Corolla, No clutch play, no gear engagement

I need help. I went out to drive my car and noticed it had no clutch play. I turned it on and say it wouldn't go into gear either. I check the clutch fluid and it was empty. I filled it with DOT 3 and pumped the clutch about 30 times and still didn't have any play. What else could this be thanks. Peace.

If you drove it like that for a while.. you might have killed your clutch or tranny. always check your fluids man.. at least once a week.

I'm gonna try bleeding the clutch line, hopefully that was it. It also might be the slave master cylinder. My uncle is gonna take a look at it tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions. My baby's up and running again. My uncle said it was the clutch slave cylinder. We went pep boys and bought the part ($28) and that is was it was. Thats the second time ive had to replace it in the nearly 2 years i've had it. Peace.

either you drive alot or you use your clutch ALOT

anyways, hydralic systems for clutches use a master and slave cylinder,

if you have had to replace the slave 2x, in the last 2 yrs, then i think the leak may be somewhere else.

you may want to take a look at your master cylinder,
climb down low and look at your clutch pedel and trace it up to where it meets the firewall, then look at the plunger thing that connects it to the firewall,

pull back the carpet and look at the firewall below that plunger.

it should be dry, but if it is wet, you now know where all your clutch fluid is going.

slave/master cylinders for clutches last around 100,000kms, so that is ~4-5 yrs of driving.

I have an '82 two-door 4-speed corolla, with 121,464 miles on it. I replaced the master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch disc, pressure plate and had the flywheel machined, all for about $250(cuz i did the work myself) I can tell you one thing though rebuilt part don't last no where near as long as OE parts so once you have it replaced from OE expect to replace it often.

I'm only 19 my mother bought her right before she had me, I grew up with the thing and I love it to death I will never get rig of it. I plan on shoe-horning a 2RZ-FE 2.4L DOHC I4 engine out of a tacoma into her.
