How much Horsepower?

What kind of potential does the 99 Prizm/Corolla engine have?? like how much HP can it get... and if I bought a Injen CAI how much increase on HP would it have? and would I notice a difference?

What have you guys raced to in your Corollas? and have you won?? I think that engine in the Prizm/Corolla has a lot of potential, but is there anyway i can get a better start off? when racing?

The 1ZZFE engine does not have a huge amount of tuning potential.
The aftermarket parts available are few and far between like that injen intake. The stock '99 1ZZFE (no VVT-i) engine has 120 HP and 122 Lb-Feet of torque to the flywheel. I would be surprised if you got any more than a 5 whp (horse power to the wheels) gain from the intake. These cars stock will hang with/beat any stock civic that is not an SI or SIR or Type R. The HX/LX/EX all have simlilar or worse HP and Torque ratings compared to it.

Other available mods are headers and cat-back exhaust sytems, ignition systems, and the like.

Real power-gaining mods like turbo are still being developed(see other posts on this by searching for turbo + 1ZZFE)
